Education Career Fair Set for April 15 at TLU: All Majors Welcome!

If you鈥檙e interested in working in the field of education鈥攅ven if you don鈥檛 aspire to become a teacher鈥攜ou are invited to an Education Career Fair at 扣扣传媒 on Wednesday, April 15. Numerous area school districts will be on hand with various types of jobs to fill, so students of all majors and jobseekers of all kinds are encouraged to attend. 

鈥淭he TLU Education Job Fair, hosted on the TLU campus, is a way for individuals looking for a job or a career change to gain access to various school districts in the area鈥攔egardless of one鈥檚 skill set or level of experience,鈥 said Dr. Donna Kubena, education chair and director of the university鈥檚 field experience and student teaching programs, as well as the alternative certification program. 鈥淭here will be jobs available for all kinds of positions.鈥

Event-goers can also learn more about TLU鈥檚 education programs while at the fair. 鈥淚f you have a bachelor's degree in a field other than teaching or are close to completing it and want to become a teacher, there will also be someone to visit with regarding the TLU Alternative Certification Program,鈥 said Kubena. In addition, there will be information available for those who would like to learn more about pursuing a master鈥檚 degree in education at TLU. 

Teachers are always in demand, but Kubena says districts are looking to fill many other types of positions鈥攅verything from accountants to receptionists, groundskeepers to instructional coaches, plumbers to speech language pathologists and many more. 

Numerous districts will be present at the fair, including ATPE (Association of 扣扣传媒 Professional Educators), Great Hearts Academies, and ISDs including Comal, East Central, Gonzales, La Grange, La Vernia, Lockhart, Marion, Navarro, New Braunfels, Nixon-Smiley, Pleasanton, Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City, Seguin, and Waelder. 

Attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their resume to hand to potential employers. The career fair will take place on Wednesday, April 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Tschoepe Hall's Dunne Conference Center (Room 115) on the TLU campus. Parking for Tschoepe Hall is located in the Beck Center lot off Prexy Street. This event is free and open to all.
