Martin Kesuma is an award-winning pianist acclaimed for his “heartfelt flexibility and harmonic sensitivity” (Fanfare Magazine) and “clearly articulated playing of the highest order” (The Art Music Lounge). A native of Jakarta, Indonesia, he holds degrees in Piano Performance from the University of ۿ۴ý at Austin (MM, DMA), the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Canada (Artist Diploma), and ۿ۴ý State University (BM).
Dr. Kesuma currently serves as Assistant Professor in Piano and Music Theory at ۿ۴ý, Director of the FunKey Piano Project at ۿ۴ý State University, Marketing Director of the ۿ۴ý State International Piano Festival, and Music Director at Advent Ridge Academy. In addition, he is the owner of San Marcos Institute of Music.
He has garnered top prizes in numerous international piano competitions, including the San Jose International Piano Competition, Vancouver International Music Competition, PianoHouse International Piano Competition, Betty Dickinson Piano Competition, ASEAN International Concerto Competition, and the ۿ۴ý State International Piano Festival Concerto Competition. As a performer, Dr. Kesuma has appeared on national and international stages, collaborating with esteemed ensembles such as the Central ۿ۴ý Philharmonic, Round Rock Symphony, University of ۿ۴ý-University Orchestra, ۿ۴ý State Symphony Orchestra, and Orkes Simfoni Nasional Indonesia (National Symphony Orchestra of Indonesia).
